You're right. I'm wrong. You're smart. I'm stupid.

For those of you Beecrofts that were too cool to come to our "family reunion"...a little history: One day Tia was almost stung by a giant brown recluse (or a Hobo spider, a Huntsman spider, but definitely not a Sun spider). Eric tried to catch the spider with a stick. That wasn't working out to good so he turned to Dad and asked him to get something he could catch the spider with. Dad hurries off and comes back with what he reckoned was a great spider catcher. What was it you ask? 2 paper plates. I know, I know. Try to catch your breath before I go on...

Well, Hanny and I were standing close by. This was too good of an opportunity to let go. We jabbed and poked and made fun of Dad (and Eric too because he was an accomplice). We were curious to know how they made it through Boy Scouts, etc. I suggested they get a jar and they spider was caught soon thereafter.

A few days after the incident, the kids were in their rooms taking naps. Deano runs in the front door (yes, he was supposed to be in his room asleep. He had climbed out the window to play outside. He's tricky). He tells Eric to come outside fast because he had found something under his truck. They go outside to look. Turns out it was a tarantula. Eric tells Deano, "Hurry and go inside and get me something to catch it with!" What does Deano come back with? You guessed it...a paper plate. Smart boy. He wasn't even around when the whole brown recluse thing went down. Eric catches the spider or arachnid if you may. He tells me to get the camera and take a picture. He wants everyone to know that paper plates DO make great spider catchers. My apologies, boys- I mean "Fierce Spider-Catching Men".

"I won't say I told you so...but the look on my face might."

Sadie was a good little actress in this picture but it's all for show.
I found her holding the spider in her room later.

Show no fear...
